Five international organizations: Geplacea NAM OAS RG San José Group 

The Canal Zone reverted to Panama on December 31, 1999, and US forces vacated their 14 military bases there. Spillover from the Colombian civil war is a major concern. Border incidents have increased since 1999, and Panama is accused of involvement in arms and narcotics smuggling, and forced repatriations of Colombian refugees.
