Libya's press and TV are a mouthpiece for the leadership. Satellite TV and the Internet are widely available, but heavily censored. The main daily newspaper is published in Arabic and has a circulation of 40,000 readers. The TV station broadcasts mostly in Arabic. Plans to start radio broadcasts in Kiswahili, Hausa, Fulani, and Amharic have been shelved.
