Five international organizations: CE EU NATO OECD OSCE Relations with the rest of Europe are the major foreign policy concern, notably the issue of a common defense policy and monetary union. Denmark has decided against introducing the euro, but the krone is pegged to it and economic policies follow those of the participating states. Promoting economic ties with Norway, Sweden, and Finland is a priority, as are improving links with former Eastern bloc states, especially those on the Baltic – not least to assist pollution reduction, a serious concern.
